Medical Student Travel Scholarship
This scholarship gives medical students considering radiology as a future career option the opportunity to attend the largest radiology conference while enrolled in medical school. RSNA will award 15 winners $1,000 to offset travel and hotel costs associated with attending the RSNA Annual meeting.

Award Amount
Medical Student Travel scholarship recipients receive $1,000 to fund travel and hotel costs for attending the in-person 2023 RSNA Annual Meeting. Award money will be distributed onsite during RSNA 2023.
Eligibility Requirements
· RSNA membership: An applicant must be an RSNA member to apply for the Medical Student Travel Scholarship and be a full-time medical student at an accredited North American medical school.
· Cover page: Include full name, medical school, graduation year and demographic information. (This information will only be viewed by the RSNA RFC MSO Subcommittee.)
· 500-word essay: Include why you are interested in radiology, what you hope to glean from the conference, and how this scholarship will give you an opportunity that you otherwise would not have
· This is a one-time award: To allow for as many individuals as possible to benefit from this opportunity, recipients are only eligible to be selected for the Medical Student Travel Scholarship once.
Note: Priority will be given to students who have otherwise not received funding from RSNA.
Scholarship Recipient Requirements
All medical student travel scholarship recipients are expected to:
· Attend a 1-hour orientation: The date and time for this event will be announced in October.
· During the annual meeting week: Attend at least (5) essentials courses, (5) case-based courses, and at least one course organized by the RSNA Resident and Fellow Committee (RFC). Scholarship recipients will receive a more detailed communication regarding courses when programming information becomes available on the 2023 RSNA Annual Meeting website.
· Provide feedback: Submit one to two paragraphs, due two weeks after the conclusion of the conference. This helps RSNA understand scholarship experience and learn of opportunities for improvement.
UIM (Underrepresented in Medicine) Applicants
The Association of American Medical Colleges defines UIM using the following criteria:
· Racial and ethnic populations who are underrepresented in the medical profession relative to their numbers in the general population
The R&E Foundation further defines UIM as:
Those who self-identify as a member of a racial or ethnic group historically underrepresented in medicine, such as:
· African-American/Black
· Hispanic/Latino
· American Indian/Alaska Native
· Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander
